The house is kind of feeling close with Toby having some bad days so when Quentin gets a door, he goes through and searches for Yamato. He knows there's a free concert at the end of a fair with lots of food trucks happening and that should be fun.

When he got dressed he tried to look nicer, so he's wearing a button down shirt, his hair's wet and he's fiddling with his cuffs as he waits at the counter.

"If you say so," Yamato says wryly. "You're the expert, after all."

"Not that much of an expert, I've just seen it work."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"More of an expert than me, then, at the very least."

[heatherandsteel]

"Yeah, its hard to avoid cats in our house. How's Gabumon to live with? Does he fall asleep on you?"

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Gabumon is -- Gabumon. He's pretty quiet and calm, especially by the standards of our partners, so he usually either helps me out with cooking and stuff, or he finds a good book."

Beat.

"He does fall asleep on me, though. Which is fine."

Gabumon's not exactly heavy, after all.

"None of the cats know how to cook, Raj included, but May makes us do the dishes sometimes. How loud can some of the other partners get?"

[angry_friendship_wolf]

Dryly: "You've met Mimi, you've seen how loud she can get. Her partner is just as much her as Gabumon is me, so -- about that loud."

Palmon is definitely the loudest of the partners. Agumon comes in at a very close second, though.

Quentin winces and readjusts against Yamato as he starts on his sweet waffle, "That must be annoying."

"It's honestly not that bad. You get used to it."

[heatherandsteel]

"She did seem nice just persistent. Do you want to get closer to the music? I think the next band should be starting soon. They're meant to be more rock."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Yeah, sounds like a good idea," Yamato says. He doesn't stand just yet -- he doesn't want to dislodge Quentin's head from his shoulder -- but he will when Quentin does.

After a moment, Quentin moves to sit up though he stay close to Yamato, "I don't know how close we can get to the stage."

"Probably not that close. But we'll see, I guess," Yamato smiles.

[heatherandsteel]

"Yes," As Quentin heads towards the stage, a colored and flying mass of pixies descends from the street lamps and starts chirping at them and poking them, "Hey, we're not invading."

Yamato gives the pixies a slightly guarded look, but lets Quentin do the talking, and avoids instinctively jerking away from them, even though he really wants to.

"Look, how about I get you guys a fried banana and ice cream and then you leave us alone for the night,"

Quentin keeps his hands up where they can see them and gestures to the food trucks. The pixies go around them, almost poking with their spears as they decide. HE hopes this works.

It's taking every fiber of self-restraint in Yamato's body not to imperiously tell the pixies to back off. He folds his arms instead, giving them (well, some of them) a level stare, instead.

At his stare, a few of the pixies mimic him while one gives Quentin a nod, "We have a deal?"

There's another nod and then he turns to Yamato, "I made a deal with them but need to get some food. They'll leave us alone after that."

"Let's get them something to eat, then," Yamato says, giving one of the pixies a quick glance.

[heatherandsteel]

"No one else can see them. They're fine as long as they don't think you're invading or treating them badly," Toby has taught him a lot about respecting pixies and he heads to a food truck as the flock darts and watches them.

The food truck is called Banana Love and he orders six fried bananas and a couple of flavors of ice cream.

"-- Why can we see them? Is it only that people who they want to see them can see them, or ... ?"

Because Yamato potentially has Questions in that regard.

"I'm not completely sure why you can see them, I think its a Milliways' thing. Normally only people with Fae blood can see them as they're another species of Fae," Once they get close enough the pixies descend on the food, "Four for you and then two for us. Open roads."

The pixies zip around them, dusting glitter in a kind of thank you and then fly off.

"Could be a Chosen thing," Yamato remarks mildly, watching the pixies as they leave. "We're able to see out-of-phase Digimon, too, so we at least have some track record for seeing things other people can't."

"How does a Digimon get out-of-phase?"

Once the pixies are gone, Quentin hands the other fried banana to Yamato and ends up getting even more glitter on both of them.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"It's just a -- thing. Whenever something starts eroding the boundaries between worlds, Digimon start slipping through the cracks without coming through all the way," Yamato says, waving a hand. "Nobody else can see them, but they can still cause damage."

He gives the glittery fried banana a slightly wry look, but is still more than happy to eat it. A bit of glitter never hurt anyone.
