The house is kind of feeling close with Toby having some bad days so when Quentin gets a door, he goes through and searches for Yamato. He knows there's a free concert at the end of a fair with lots of food trucks happening and that should be fun.

When he got dressed he tried to look nicer, so he's wearing a button down shirt, his hair's wet and he's fiddling with his cuffs as he waits at the counter.

"T-There is. They're very, um, musical."

"Yes, they are,"

The band gets louder which is kind of useful, not as many chances for awkward talk. Quentin finishes his food and wonders how weird Yamato would find dancing with him.

Yamato tries not to feel like a total idiot ('potassium-y?' 'musical?' What the fuck?), and just settles next to Quentin, finishing off his food.

Quentin smiles as the band goes into a couple of loud songs that gets the audience singing along as he eats his ice cream.

Yamato doesn't know the words, and isn't exactly a singing along type anyway, but he quietly enjoys the music, sliding an arm around Quentin's shoulders.

This is easier, talking is tricky but he likes having Yamato close.

"What's this band called, anyway? Er. If you know, that is."

[heatherandsteel]

"Hopeful Romantics, its a good name,"

They're onto a slower song now.

It occurs to Yamato that he really should ask Quentin to dance.

But also, he's fairly sure that if he tries, it'll just come out as a string of meaningless, garbled sounds.

So.

Quentin's debating how best to ask Yamato to dance, words are being weird, so leans up to kiss Yamato's jaw.

Yamato grins despite himself, and leans down to return the favour, kissing Quentin's cheek quickly.

He shifts a little closer at the kiss as the band starts up a faster song.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Doyouwanttodance," Yamato says, very rapidly and very garbled, and possibly a little more forcefully than intended.

"Yes, that'd be great," The question comes through and Quentin's smile is huge.

Yamato can't help but smile, even if only for a moment, before he steps away and takes Quentin's hand, leading him a little closer to where people are dancing.

Quentin stands up and squeezes Yamato's hand as the band shifts gears slightly to a little slower song.

Yamato's a little awkward as he starts dancing, but he is, at least, a good dancer, with a fairly natural sense of rhythm. He's not stepping on Quentin's feet, at the very least.

Its fairly dark and there are other couples, one man in an impressively sparkly shirt says, "You're so cute, glitter boys."

Then kisses his own partner as the band slows the music way down and Quentin, who's also a good dancer turns pink.

Yamato scowls on reflex, albeit without any particular rancour behind it, even as his cheeks turn pink.

As the music slows down, he leans in, giving Quentin a quick, light kiss.

Quentin reaches over to tousle Yamato's hair to loosen some of the glitter, "I like you all shiny."

"You look better with glitter than I do," Yamato says wryly. "It suits you."

[heatherandsteel]

He shrugs and shakes his hair, "I guess, its the whole not human thing."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Maybe," Yamato says. "Or, er, just the whole thing where you're, um, very pretty."

[heatherandsteel]

"Oh," Its not something he thinks about and he gets pinker.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Y-Yeah, so, um. That's probably it."
