The house is kind of feeling close with Toby having some bad days so when Quentin gets a door, he goes through and searches for Yamato. He knows there's a free concert at the end of a fair with lots of food trucks happening and that should be fun.

When he got dressed he tried to look nicer, so he's wearing a button down shirt, his hair's wet and he's fiddling with his cuffs as he waits at the counter.

"Well, it's not like he's asked. If he does, then obviously I have to tell him, but I don't even think telling him would change anything."

Beat.

"Besides, this is Taichi, master of evading awkward subjects. He's not going to ask."

Yamato's not bitter, Quentin. You're bitter.

Quentin has no idea what to say, so shifts to have his side against Yamato,

"Yeah, Toby's like that. Why talk when you can drink coffee?"

"There's definitely something to be said for drinking coffee instead of talking, though," Yamato says wryly, leaning against Quentin.

"It works at every time of day and the stains blend well with blood."

"I'm still very glad that Digimon don't bleed. Our battles are way less messy than the norm."

"Lucky,"

His magic is connected to blood but he hates it and he's seen too much of it. Leaning against Yamato is nice and he puts his head on Yamato's shoulder.

Yamato chuckles a little, settling one hand against Quentin's head to play with his hair, and rather awkwardly eating his chicken waffle sandwich with the other.

This is nice and Quentin relaxes as a cat walks by and gives them a look. He sits up and says with a wave, "Only Raj gets to glare at me that way."

The cat moves on and Quentin sighs, "Sorry, cats."

"How do you know that cat even knows Raj? I'm guessing they can't all know each other. Even in one city, there'd be too many."

"Because they all know each other. Cats are just that way."

"If you say so," Yamato says wryly. "You're the expert, after all."

"Not that much of an expert, I've just seen it work."

"More of an expert than me, then, at the very least."

"Yeah, its hard to avoid cats in our house. How's Gabumon to live with? Does he fall asleep on you?"

"Gabumon is -- Gabumon. He's pretty quiet and calm, especially by the standards of our partners, so he usually either helps me out with cooking and stuff, or he finds a good book."

Beat.

"He does fall asleep on me, though. Which is fine."

Gabumon's not exactly heavy, after all.

"None of the cats know how to cook, Raj included, but May makes us do the dishes sometimes. How loud can some of the other partners get?"

Dryly: "You've met Mimi, you've seen how loud she can get. Her partner is just as much her as Gabumon is me, so -- about that loud."

Palmon is definitely the loudest of the partners. Agumon comes in at a very close second, though.

Quentin winces and readjusts against Yamato as he starts on his sweet waffle, "That must be annoying."

"It's honestly not that bad. You get used to it."

"She did seem nice just persistent. Do you want to get closer to the music? I think the next band should be starting soon. They're meant to be more rock."

"Yeah, sounds like a good idea," Yamato says. He doesn't stand just yet -- he doesn't want to dislodge Quentin's head from his shoulder -- but he will when Quentin does.

After a moment, Quentin moves to sit up though he stay close to Yamato, "I don't know how close we can get to the stage."

"Probably not that close. But we'll see, I guess," Yamato smiles.

"Yes," As Quentin heads towards the stage, a colored and flying mass of pixies descends from the street lamps and starts chirping at them and poking them, "Hey, we're not invading."

Yamato gives the pixies a slightly guarded look, but lets Quentin do the talking, and avoids instinctively jerking away from them, even though he really wants to.
